Getting Revenge on Lauren Wood was written by Eileen Cook and I have to say even though I don't usually go for these kind of books I really enjoyed this one.
This book is about two best friends, Lauren and Helen. Since birth they've been inseparable.... until the end of their grade eight year. When Lauren betrayed Helen, She humiliated her in such a profound way that Helen had to move away. It was all good for Lauren though, she became Miss popular, cheerleading captain, leading role in all the school plays, and to top it off she got Mr. Hotty as her boyfriend. Giving up Helen for popularity was an awesome choice in her eyes, it was so good that she had all but forgot about Helen.
Helen hadn't forgotten about Lauren though, for three years she had been simmering in rage and anger at what Lauren had done to her, and finally she gets her chance at revenge, to take away everything that Lauren traded her in for. Helen returns to her old town, with a new name and with new purpose, to give Lauren a taste of her own medicine.
Total chick flick kind of book, a really easy read but so entertaining. If you find yourself bored out of your mind because your friends cancelled on you AGAIN, then you should check this book out. I'm sure once your done you'll have some new inspiration on how to deal with the flakes.
